Software Solutions for Capital Planning and Facilities Management

Software Solutions

We currently provide four modules to subscribers at www.buildingweb.com:

Capital PlanningThe "Capital Planning" service captures building data, records and tracks status for capital projects, and provides applicable analytical tools. These include interactive charts, graphs and tables for cash flow projections, reserve fund studies, and other funding analyses as well as custom query and reporting. Project funding at the buildings can be "rolled up" into building groupings ("portfolios") that you need for your organization, or used at the building level to support ongoing capital programming.

Manage and Share DocumentsThe "Team Library" service is where building documents are kept for secure storage and easy access. Authorized personnel can have access anywhere, anytime to scanned drawings, reports, photographs, leases, certificates, completed project files, etc. Information can be viewed by several people at different locations to support decisions, or printed off for distribution beyond the authorized group. With a subscription to Buildingweb CP, you automatically get access to storage space per building for use in the TL or PM modules at no additional cost.

Collaborate on ProjectsThe "Project Management" service is an interactive environment for collaborative communication between project team members. Buildingweb PM tracks key project success factors and can show the status of all your projects at any point in the process. It is designed for maintaining control over the many smaller projects that comprise much of the capital budget for which the full-scale software packages designed for large capital construction projects are not appropriate. Use of this service currently comes for no additional charge with a subscription to Buildingweb CP.

Monitor Building ControlsThe "Building Dashboard" service is designed to communicate with building monitoring systems, in order to collect and display building performance data. Energy usage, indoor environmental conditions, structural vibration, noise and moisture in walls are some of the parameters it has been used to monitor. It receives and stores the real-time test data, and then produces easy-to-read charts for access over the Internet to support diagnosis by your staff or consultants.

Success Stories

"With the growing number of pressures put on Municipalities such as City growth, aging infrastructure, and reduced funding, the need to focus our limited resources where it will have the most impact has been a critical part of our strategic direction. Buildingweb has helped provide needed visibility into our capital planning and is assisting us to better define our short and long term priorities."
